KIRKWOOD, Missouri (Reuters) - A gunman killed five people after opening fire at City Hall in the St. Louis suburb of Kirkwood on Thursday night, according to media reports.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported the shooter killed a police officer outside City Hall and then entered the building and shot and killed another officer.
"He shot three other people who were attending the council meeting. They also are deceased," the newspaper quoted officer Tracy Panus as saying. The paper also quoted police as saying they later killed the gunman.
